Elk + Avenue Hotel (Banff, Canada)

Guests staying at the hotel said that it is a great budget-minded choice for a weekend getaway or ski holiday. The rooms are comfortable, the beds firm and the hotel provides for storage of skis and gear. Guests remark that they find the Banff International Hotel to be a good value for the money.

The hotel is frequently utilized by ski tours and excursion companies who find that the price is fair, the staff hospitable and attentive and the location is close to all of Banff's points of interest, fine dining, unique shops, galleries and museums.

Guests remark that the rooms are warm and cozy and provide excellent views of the majestic mountains and surrounding countryside, noting that the price is right and the location of the hotel is perfect. We enjoyed our stay and will return.

Guests advise that although the rooms are comfortable enough, the property is getting tired and worn looking and it is time for a refurbishing. The location is great so its not a bad trade-off for glitz.

Because the hotel is frequented by tour groups, buses and ski clubs, some guest have complained that when such a group is arriving or departing, the lobby is just too busy with people and luggage blocking access to the elevators.

Some guests have remarked that the hotel did not live up to their expected standard of cleanliness and that the shower stalls were stained and the whole property looks like it could use a good scrubbing.
