Being right in the heart of the Old Town ensures pretty much everything worth seeing in this part of Quebec City is just a short walk away. Plus, the fact that the hotel is located in a quiet little side street means you don't get disturbed by any late-night street noise after dark. Perfect.
positive:
Hotel is full of charm.
The hotel's beautiful brickwork, ornate old ceiling beams and rustic looking radiators all help to make you feel like you're staying in a 19th century European townhouse rather than a modern day North American hotel. Charming and then some..
positive:
Staff are very cordial and welcoming.
The Acadia's staff are a real credit to this establishment as they manage to be effortlessly amiable and industrious while flitting between between English and French without missing a beat. Wonderful hospitality.
Negative Reviews
negative:
There's no elevator..
..And the stairs are pretty steep too. Something to keep in mind if you have mobility issues.
negative:
Parking can be an issue.
As well as being ostensibly more expensive than most other parking options in this area, the hotel's private parking has an extremely narrow entrance way. This means that you need to be extremely careful when maneuvering your vehicle in and out of the lot. Suffice to say, SUVs cannot be accommodated here.
negative:
But that's about it..
Once you put the issues with the stairs and the parking to one side, it's evident that there isn't really that much else to take issue with here.
