Fantasyland Hotel (Edmonton, Canada)

The hotel has fun and unique features that make it appealing for families. Since it's located within the mall, you have everything within easy reach for entertainment and eating. The amusement park, miniature golf, and ice rink are also on the mall's property, so you can essentially spend your entire vacation without leaving the site.

Rooms are neatly laid out and spacious, providing enough comfortability for everyone and their belongings. The themes bring a different ambience to the stay, however even the standard rooms also have a cozy atmosphere.

Staff are welcoming, personable, and nice to be around and chat with. They know the neighborhood and surrounding region well, and can advise where to go within the mall and offsite. Their attention level is sharp, so you can easily make requests and ask questions.

Many find it odd and annoying that there's no microwave in the room. You get a fridge and a coffee/tea maker, so it would make sense to also have something to quickly heat food up. Considering the mid-high range of pricing, it seems even ridiculous not to have this appliance.

Fantasyland accommodations don't meet expectations, especially because of its name. The décor is not as vibrant and fresh, and the rooms clearly show their age and overuse. Fixtures too could use better upkeep and a makeover.

Water pressure and housekeeping standards are inconsistent and distressful during check-in and your stay. The elevator is quite slow, and fills up quickly, which also adds to impatience.
