Positive Reviews

Relaxing retreat.

Guests were treated to total tranquility at this serene spot. If you are looking to get away from it all, Broom Hall offers a two acre traditional English country garden and grounds, overlooking 13 acres of parkland. Guests frequently spotted birds and wildlife at this idyllic retreat.

Charming country house.

Guests new that they were in for something special from the moment they reached the end of the winding driveway lined with lime trees. Broom Hall made a great first impression with its size and Victorian architecture, and once inside, guests continued to be wowed by the ornate ceilings and marble fireplaces.

Welcoming staff.

Staff were found to be attentive but discreet. Guests said that service was efficient, but that a certain level of privacy was given. They liked that staff were as present as they wanted them to be, or just off in the distance, for the best of both worlds.

Negative Reviews

Weak shower.

The plumbing at this older bed and breakfast wasn't always able to met the needs of guests. Water pressure was sometimes found to be not powerful enough, and guests said that they didn't like hand held shower heads in some rooms. Shower temperature ranged from scalding hot to freezing cold on multiple occasions, and some guests were unable to find a comfortable shower temperature.

Dated rooms.

A few guests wished that rooms were given a refresh. While rooms were found to be clean and comfortable, the decor sometimes left a bit to be desired.

Steep climb.

Make sure you reserve a ground floor room in the Coach House if you aren't keen to trek up stairs with luggage. A few guests complained that a lack of an elevator was an inconvenience.
