About Burlton Inn

A traditional country pub dating back to the 18th century, Burlton Inn offers cosy lodgings beside the A528, about ten miles north of Shrewsbury, beautiful Shropshire's historic county town.

The six well appointed rooms feature en-suite bathrooms, comfy beds, flat-screen TVs, desks, and handy tea/coffee stations. Selected quarters add four-poster beds.

Burlton Inn prides itself on being both family friendly and dog friendly. Both on-site parking and Wi-Fi access are free.

The pub, also known as Mrs Pough's parlour after a long-time proprietress, boasts a rustic interior with a fireplace. It serves real ales and an inventive menu that attracts gourmets from afar. A full and hearty English breakfast is available daily, too.

The Mere, one of several local lakes that were created during the ice age, lies about seven miles away in the attractive market town of Ellesmere. It's a popular spot for wildlife watching, hiking and boating. The landscaped parklands at Hawkstone Park Follies lie about 20 minutes' drive away.

Positive Reviews

Great accommodation.

With the added bonus of having the pub Burlton Inn just a few steps away, guests will find that the accommodation provided is more than satisfactory. The accommodation offers more than one needs for a short stay. The rooms are warm, cosy, and comfortable, and even pet friendly!

Great value for money.

From the price of a room per night, to a meal at the pub, guests will find that they are not breaking the bank to afford such delights as such is offered at the Burlton Inn. Value for money is the name of the game here, and affordability is prime.

A great breakfast.

Each morning, a breakfast of champions if laid out, including options such as cereals, yoghurts, hot items, cold items, and a full English option. With a meal like that in one's belly, the start of the day is bound to keep one going, fully fuelled.

Negative Reviews

Thin walls.

Unfortunately, the walls are rather thin, and guests may find that hearing everything one's neighbour does may not be as appealing as it sounds. Extractor fans are very loud, and guests will find these disturbances to be a problem, especially if one is a light sleeper.

Double check special offers

Guests making bookings through third party booking agencies had best double check what the standards are for each booking. Unfortunately, guests will may find they didn't read the fine print, and are disappointed when they discover that they are not included on certain things.

Water and heating problems arise.

For those that are not aware, sometimes problems arise, and it seems that the most common problem for Burlton Inn is that the heating and hot water fluxuates. Guests are made aware of any discrepancies upon their arrival, however, to assure that assistance is provided.
