About Le Coureur des Bois

This charming bed & breakfast in an old stone townhouse is set on a quaint sloping street within Québec City's famed fortified walls. In addition to its prime Old Town location, Le Coureur des Bois boasts evocative interiors and free Wi-Fi.

Evocative guest rooms with exposed walls and old school furnishings provide sofa beds, flat-screen TVs and stone fireplaces. Some rooms boast en-suite bathrooms; others require guests to make use of shared facilities.

A public-use computer is available for guests to use. Outside there's a bright garden with a patio and hammock.

A varied breakfast buffet is served daily in a quaint dining room with a fireplace. A communal fridge and water fountain are on hand too.

Le Coureur des Bois is a three-minute walk from Le Capitole theatre and a seven-minute stroll from the Québec City Convention Centre. The landmark Citadelle of Québec is half-a-mile away.

Positive Reviews

Lovely hosts create a real 'home from home' vibe

Guests were united in their praise of this B&B's genial, attentive and supremely hospitable proprietors. Reviewers said that, as well as being persistently warm and friendly to a fault, their hosts were very keen to engage and relished the chance to make recommendations when asked.

Breakfast time is a real treat

The vast majority of travellers who stayed here were blown away by the quality of the breakfast served each day. Very few reviewers had anything but praise for the savoury omelettes, waffles/pancakes (with fresh fruit) and scones cooked fresh from the oven.

Old Town location is just about perfect

This property's location got a big thumbs up from most visitors, mostly because it's central to everything in the Old Town yet far enough away from the beaten track to enjoy plenty of peace and quiet.

Negative Reviews

Some concerns for people with mobility issues

Guests expressed concern about the steep stairs within the property, noting they were difficult for less mobile people to negotiate. The scarped street on which the property is set was also highlighted as a worry.

Shared bathrooms aren't everyone's cup of tea

Travellers who stayed in the 'private facilities' accommodations were displeased to find out they had to share their bathrooms with other guests.
