About Claremount House

Claremount House B&B stands adjacent to Salthill Beach and affords views over Ireland's famous Galway Bay.

Rooms at Claremount House are modern in design with a private bathroom containing complimentary toiletries. Goose down duvets, TV and a hairdryer are also included and some rooms enjoy sea or garden views.

Parking and Wi-Fi are free and there is a guest lounge plus an attractive garden in which to relax. The two-mile long Salthill Promenade provides the perfect vantage point to watch the sun go down on Galway Bay.

A wide ranging breakfast menu includes a popular full Irish option. The almost adjacent Galway Golf Course restaurant serves lunch and dinner choices. Tom Sheridan’s Bar and Restaurant and the Fisherman are less than a mile away.

It is an approximate ten-minute drive to the city centre. There are many organised sightseeing excursions in the region. These include those by boat to the Aran Islands. In many instances, organisers will collect guests from this B&B.

Positive Reviews

A genuine Irish welcome

The hosts are extremely welcoming and after only a few minutes you feel relaxed and completely at home. Naturally, they know the area very well and are happy to share their knowledge and tips so that you get the most from your stay. The area and B&B are great, but it’s these hosts here who make the visit outstandingly good and rewarding.

It's as clean as a new and much-loved pin

As expected, everything here is spotlessly clean and the place obviously benefits throughout from lots of TLC. The price is reasonable too, bearing in mind what is included, plus this truly fab location. Oh … and the beds are so comfortable, you don’t want to get out of them. Well, maybe for breakfast …

Breakfast is a daily winner

Breakfast is possibly the only meal of the day that you’ll need. The choices and quality are outstanding and it’s all served in the attractive atrium with views to the garden. It’s simply perfect. Some say that breakfast finishes too early but it’s obviously timed so that everyone can get out and experience the scenery and attractions that the Galway region has to offer.

Negative Reviews

The room is a tight squeeze

You might call the room cosy, although cramped might be a more apt description. This is, though the only disadvantage in a hugely enjoyable visit. Nothing’s perfect – but everything else is pretty near the mark.

Give the car a holiday too

Galway is a driver’s nightmare. It’s very busy and the streets are really narrow. The B&B hosts recommend the local bus service instead and this is one of their many great suggestions that are worth heeding.
