Barceló Maya Colonial Puerto Aventuras is a stunning, all-inclusive 5-star resort located in Riviera Maya, complete with several restaurants, family entertainment and luxury accommodations. The children's pool is a friendly environment where guests can let kids be kids, complete with a lifeguard on duty to help ensure everyone stays safe.

Guests can buy a bottle or two of wine and then bring it to dinner at one of the restaurants on-site. Wait staff is happy to cork an unfinished bottle so that it's available for dinner the next evening.

Close proximity to adventures

Guests have access to a number of excursions in the area, as well as numerous on-site activities. Daily, free dolphin shows are just up the road and always a hit with children and adults alike.

Several guests note that the drinks were not completely up to par for such a highly rated, all-inclusive resort. Some guests feel that the beer from the tap at the poolside bar was warm and bordering on flat. The friendly and personable bartending staff goes above and beyond to make things right, however.

Although it is advertised that there is waiter service at the pool and the beach, guests comment that finding anyone to take an order can become quite an ordeal. Guests who are able to get service say that their orders always arrived quickly.
