You'll definitely find a peaceful, scenic setting to relax at, where the sounds of the ocean come through clearly. With the beach right there, you don't need to leave to find other activities, yet it's easy to see other amazing sights in close proximity, should you choose.
Nice décor, fixtures in great condition, and a vibrant atmosphere blend together well to meet expectations. There's ample space for everyone to feel comfortable, and all throughout the lodge, the layouts are designed to encourage interacting with others and enjoying the ambiance.
Guests who stay here with their dogs love this place and feel very comfortable. The welcome amenities including treats and a dog bed are much appreciated, along with the staff's genuine friendliness. The lodge's owners are very in tune with what dog parents look for, and do what they can so dogs and their humans can have a great time.
Not everyone is happy with their balcony view, as some seem to only provide a partial look at the beach and ocean. Some also face the outdoor dining area or other less than desirable scenery, and don't seem as private as suggested.
At times, the restaurant staff seem overwhelmed, and thus don't attend to everyone as promptly as they should. Be prepared for the possibility of waiting quite a while, if the restaurant is busy, or there's an event going on at the hotel.
Many guests don't feel that the extras and the location are enough to justify pricing that's higher than similar hotels. Since surfing lessons and activities incur additional costs anyway, they think that the hotel's base pricing should be lower.
