You will love this place. Many of the guest accommodations feature stone fireplaces and balconies with majestic mountain views. Guest comment that they enjoy a long, hot soak in the outdoor hot tub and then hot chocolate curled up in front of the fireplace, noting it is a wonderful way to relax after a long day on the ski slopes.
Perched at the base of Tunnel Mountain, the lodge commands spectacular views of the majestic mountains. The grounds are heavily forested, a nice area for an afternoon nature walk. The lodge provides mountain bikes for exploring and the venue is within a stroll of the heart of downtown Banff. Returning guests note that a ski trip to Buffalo Mountain Lodge is an annual event that the family looks forward to, noting they will return and recommend to family and friends.
Guest remark that the energetic and helpful staff are quick to lend a hand with gear and skis and that secure storage is available. Everyone at the lodge goes out of their way to ensure guest comfort.
Guests comment that the lodge is cosy and comfortable but that some of the furniture and fixtures are starting to look a bit dated and a refurbishing is in order as carpets are also faded and rather worn.
Guests have noted minor maintenance issues such a dripping shower or a toilet that ran continuously. When reported to management, the issues were repaired and guest said it was a minor inconvenience that did not distract from their stay.
Guests remark that during the height of the season, the gourmet restaurant is popular with locals as well as guests and that at times there is a rather long wait for a table. Reservations are suggested.
