The entire property has a Spanish-Mexican theme, whimsically decorated and furnished, to the guests' amusement. Guests said that the property's appearance alone was a welcome change from the sterile chain and beach hotels they have stayed at. The charm and the style of the property alone kept some of the loyal guests returning.
This hotel is located directly across the street from a beach access point, so guests do not have to go far to swim in the ocean. Moreover, guests appreciated tha fact the property is within walking distance from the best restaurants in town, such as the Village Grille.
Each room features a full-kitchen, which is equipped with fridge, stove, pots, pans, and utensils. Those guests who wanted to prepare their own meal weren't disappointed as the basic materials for food preparation were already provided.
Air conditioners in the rooms were old fashioned, and was reported to make loud, wheezing noises. Many guests complained that they were not able to sleep soundly because of the annoying sound that the machine creates.
Among the showering issues reported was that the water pressure was too weak and depressing, there were no hot water, and that the towels were very thin. Others noted that the property did not provide bath soaps and other toiletries that should be complimentary.
Guests who wanted to use the pool were discouraged after seeing the facility packed with people. Those who wanted to sit and relax at the pool area had to get chairs early so they can secure a spot. Towels were also hard to get, as there were barely any staff at the swimming pool area.
