Hotel Banff Caribou Lodge and Spa (Banff, Canada)

The property is very attractive from the outside and oozes kerb appeal; it can even be spotted from the nearby mountains. Inside, the hotel is decorated to a good standard and the lobby is very welcoming with its open fireplace and comfortable seating. Past guests have also stated that the staff are very friendly and in addition they have appreciated the free underground parking.

The center of Banff is approximately 15-minutes walk away and there are bus stops in both directions very close to the hotel. There have been reports of free bus passes being available so this may be worth enquiring about at reception. The hot pool is a cross between a swimming pool and a hot tub with mood lighting to help you relax. Guests have enjoyed spending time there especially after a day's exploration of the area.

Breakfast is hearty with vast choices and good quality ingredients. The on-site Keg restaurant is a huge plus point for guests as well.

Rooms are reportedly on the small side, according to some guests, especially if you have quite a bit of luggage. They are also reported as being a little dark.

Although staff are reported as very friendly, their efficiency could apparently use improvement at mealtimes. A handful of guests have used words such as "chaotic" to describe the service and at times staff have come across as inexperienced.

Rooms would benefit from air conditioning, which is currently absent. A fan is provided but this is apparently not always enough to keep the room at the right temperature during the Summer months.
