The front desk staff has been found to be particularly helpful by guests and the rest of the team is also friendly, lending to a good ambience in the hotel.

Breakfast is a bargain.

While citadel’s Dutch buffet fare is not to everyone’s tastes, many were happy to get a basic, buffet breakfast for free given how expensive Amsterdam can be.

Negative Reviews

Small all round.

Guests found the rooms, bathrooms and beds to be smaller than preferred, as is often the case in Amsterdam, but if you do not plan to spend much time in your room, this should not be much of a problem.

Wi-Fi connection problems.

Should you be in need of taking care of some work over the internet, make sure to enquire with staff about a room with good connection as some guests have reported weak Wi-Fi.

A few small things.
