Positive Reviews

Lovely Building

The hostel is in a beautiful old stone building in a good neighbourhood, and has a nice helpful atmosphere It is only about 15-20 minutes' walk from Aberdeen town centre. There is also a bus stop with regular buses, very close to the hostel.

Well Equipped

The rooms are clean basic accommodation, with nothing to complain about, the kitchen is very well equipped, and the staff asre very warm and friendly. One visitor was particularly impressed by the Italian girl in the staff'! The hotel's location and price are well liked.

Friendly and Welcoming

The staff are friendly and helpful, and good at passing on local knowledge and information.

Negative Reviews

Lacking in Technology

The lack of a TV is commented on, also the cost of Internet access which might be a problem if one were staying more than one night, the Internet connection was very poor.

Crowded Sleeping

Guests who was unused to sleeping in a room with strangers found the dormitory not very restful The guest who found that sharing bunk bed with other folk they didn't get a decent night's sleep at all, probably did not mean literally sharing the bed! The lack of lockers or somewhere to store a laptop safely is a serious drawba.

Basically Basic

Guests found one room 'very smelly' and the lack of plugs is a disadvantage. It was also found that the room could have been warmer. It was felt that the room was far too expensive, with no kettle in the room, no showers on the landing, poor quality bathroom and toilets, and no extras such as fruit juice or coffee.
